Governance, History, and Our Mission for the Upper East Region
Established by the Government of Ghana, ICOUR Ltd operates under the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA). Our mandate is to manage irrigation infrastructure to ensure all-year-round farming, combatting food insecurity and poverty in Northern Ghana.
Constructed between 1975 and 1985 by Taysec, the Tono Irrigation Project stands as one of West Africa's most significant agricultural engineering feats. For over four decades, we have served as the economic backbone of the Kassena-Nankana and Bolgatanga districts.
We are governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA). Our management team is committed to the highest standards of public service and operational efficiency.
