The Tono scheme allows for dry-season farming, significantly boosting the income of local smallholders who would otherwise be idle during the harmattan season. It is a major hub for rice and tomato production in Ghana.
The Vea project complements Tono, providing vital water resources for the Bolgatanga region. Similar in function, it supports a diverse range of crops and local livelihoods.
